This week we are continuing work on your Glacial Formation Research Project.
Remember to use the blendspace resources
Below is our WALT and the Success Criteria of what you need to include, describe and explain in your presentation.
We will use the examples to help identify what is required.
Todays work and examples are on the classroom walls.
For this standard you are required to use spatial data. We will do this using the programme we have been learning ARCGIS.
You need to show in your assessment you can make Simple manipulations to the data:
· changing the symbols used
· sorting and editing a table
· querying the map
· using coordinate systems
· displaying a graph based on the map
You then need to do this to solve a geographical problem.
Each of you will have your own problem which we will discuss and make notes on the requirements.
TASK: Look at the Merit Example and highlight the problem.
The due date for this assessment is the 27th of June (by 11.59pm).
You will have class time for the assessment from Friday 9/6 until Friday 23/6
The remaining work for the assessment must be completed at home.
You have four options
All the required data files can be found in GISOnline or have been shared with you via your google drive.
Step 1 - on Friday 9/6
You should begin to create the required map (spatial data). The handouts have step by step instructions on this process. I encourage you to help each other understand the tutorial and work through this together, but you all must produce your own map and data.
Step 2 - on Friday 9/6
Do a background search for information on your topic area. Record notes and the source of information in a new google file called "91014 _ Your Name"
Step 3 - I will be in class to work with individuals to guide you with the next parts.
Today we are going to be learning more advanced GIS Skills
The tutorials for this are online - click on the following links to open the online work
